Neither rain nor wind could hold the newfies, their owners, the judges and spectators back from participating and having a blast at the NCNE 1st Annual Newffest!

The morning started off on the damp side, but it didn't stop the incredible display of Draft Dog prowess during the Greatest Draft Dog Of New England competition.

Newffest had the honor of welcoming NCA working dog judges Dwight Gorsuch and Nancy McKee to judge the Greatest Draft Dog of New England and the Draft Dog match.  The course was filled with turns, obstacles and fun distractions that challenged every team entered.

The Greatest Draft Dog Teams were all neck and neck...in the end, Sue Marino and her newf, Nemo came away with the title Greatest Draft Dog Of New England! Congratulations and good job to everyone who entered!

The draft match was also a huge success. Many teams were able to try their drafting talent through the draft course.  Judges Dwight and Nancy were incredible. They spent unlimited time giving advice on harnessing, hitching and moving effectively through the course. The handlers learned valuable lessons that will come in handy during a real draft test. Thank you again to the Judges for judging, helping and withstanding the weather!

Many newfies and their owners also moved to the indoor ring and participated in Obedience, Rally and Conformation.

NewfFest was very successful with well over 40 entries. The special guest judge for Obedience and Rally was AKC Judge Lynn DePrizio and our Conformation judge was Newfoundland Breeder, Christine Gorsuch . They kept the entrants moving and also shared their experiences of Judging in the ring.
The day was a blast for everyone who came to participate and watch. It was filled with good sportsmanship, teamwork, many laughs and good food.

Thank You to all that helped make the day happen.
