Want to start drafting with your Newfs (other breeds welcome, too!)? Want to master “90
degree turns”? Are you preparing for upcoming Draft Tests? Come and learn from Todd and
Sue, two of the most experienced draft dog trainers in NCNE! We will have a scaled down
maneuvering course for the run-thru.
There is no fee to participate.
NCA has a new draft division which to be offered at Draft Tests!
NCA Beginner Draft Dog (Effective July 1, 2019)
- Entire test done on LOOSE leash
- Recall done on 15 ft leash provided by test
- No back during harnessing and hitching
- Harnessing near a cart
- Wider distances for maneuvering course
- No need to return removable obstacle
- 45 sec to back 3ft with cart
- 4 bumps allowed during maneuvering course
- 1 min group stay on leash
- Less weight
- 1/2 mile freight haul
- Beginner title not required to enter Draft Dog division
